Job Responsibilities
Classroom Environment & Student Care:
- Maintain a caring, safe, and nurturing environment in class, observing health and safety protocols at all times.
- Provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for each child.
- Understand and be aware of the cultural and language support students require for academic growth, Pre-K through Third Grade.
Teaching & Curriculum:
- Committed to and experienced in project-based learning.
- Meet and instruct students in assigned classes.
- Serve on content specific curriculum committees to create content, evaluate the instructional program, and make improvements as needed.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and technology consistent with student needs and capabilities.
- Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Assessment & Student Support:
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Ensure that the testing, placement, and instruction of students align with their identified needs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of a tutoring and mentoring program for students to ensure student support and academic success.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by school policy.
Classroom Management & Communication:
- Establish a set of classroom behavioral expectations based on clearly defined goals and principles.
- Work cooperatively with other school personnel to meet students' needs.
- Engage in parent communication to actively reflect the students' situation and provide suggestions.
Professional Development & Community Engagement:
- Participate in faculty training for the instructional program.
- Attend academic, departmental, and school meetings when required, and attend/deliver professional development sessions as directed.
- Participate as a member of the faculty on school committees and professional association activities.
- Supervise and accompany students on excursions, as appropriate, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
- Perform any other related duties as requested.
Requirements
- Education: At least a Bachelor's degree in education related field from an accredited college or university. A Master's degree is desirable.
- Experience: At least 3 years' relevant teaching experience as a homeroom teacher in an international Kindergarten.
- Certification: National or State issued license or certifications.
- Intercultural Competence: Ability to foster collaboration and trust in a multicultural environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Technology: Familiarity with digital learner management systems to document child progress and classroom technology.
